We had an amazing stay at Tortuga Lodge! They picked us up from outside San Jose and the transfer to the hotel was smooth and comfortable. The boat ride to the lodge was like something out of Jurassic Park, with camens, monkeys, and other wildlife. The rooms had character and the river views were lovely. The pool was relaxing and private. The food was excellent and the turtle hatching experience was once in a lifetime. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and the guides were exceptional.
Highly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful and clean room, with mosquito-proof window screens. Stunning gardens with a variety of wildlife.- The daily naturalist tours of the grounds were highly recommended and allowed us to see a wealth of mammals, birds, and reptiles.- The hotel had a lovely pool and bar/restaurant area.- There were beautiful jungle walks directly from the gardens.- The staff, including receptionists, bar staff, naturalist guides, boat drivers.- it was the best hotel we stayed at in Costa Rica and potentially one of the best worldwide.
The lack of air conditioning in the rooms made it uncomfortable, especially during the night. The open windows with screens offered little privacy and allowed noise from outside to be heard.

the staff at tortuga lodge went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable stay. their service was outstanding, from the moment we arrived to the helpful guides on the tours. the little touches, like providing mozzie repellent and umbrellas, made all the difference. we felt welcomed and taken care of throughout our entire stay.
No glass windows, resulting in damp clothes and a smelly room.

Wow, what an amazing and unique stay at this resort! The grounds were stunning, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Waking up to toucans and howler monkeys was incredible, and the bungalows provided a great night's sleep. The in-room massages were excellent, and the food was delicious and reasonably priced. The resort offers complimentary rides to town and goes above and beyond to ensure a fantastic stay. Don't miss out on this place!
Strongly recommend this hotel.

A fantastic escape to end our honeymoon. The grounds were amazing with muddy but enjoyable walking trails where we saw toucans, howler monkeys, and blue jean frogs. Plenty of hammocks and sun loungers by the lovely pool. Super attentive staff, free coffee/tea, and muffins. The hotel offers a free boat service to Tortugero town. The restaurant made our honeymoon special with a romantic corner and flowers. Delicious food and a safe, catered experience.
Can't recommend this hotel highly enough.

We had an amazing stay at this hotel. The location was fantastic, tucked away in its own private forest and providing a peaceful and quiet atmosphere. We were pleasantly surprised to find that we saw just as much wildlife on the hotel grounds as we did on a wildlife tour. The rooms were lovely and well-insulated, as we didn't hear any noise from neighboring rooms, even those with young children. The staff were incredibly helpful, cheerful, and professional, providing outstanding service throughout our stay. We also loved the walking trails at the back of the property, where we had the opportunity to spot monkeys, toucans, frogs. The food in the restaurant was delicious, with a wide variety of options available.
Was all great.

We got great value for our money with an amazing stay at Tortuga Lodge & Gardens. The room was beautiful and well-maintained, and the location amidst the tropical rainforest and by the canal was breathtaking. The staff treated us like family, they were super friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
The hotel breakfast menu could benefit from some improvement.
